Setting goals is a fundamental component to long-term success. It’s difficult to get to where you are trying to go until you clearly define where that is. Studies have shown a direct link between goals and enhanced performance in business and achievement in your personal life. Goals help you focus and allocate your time and resources efficiently and, importantly, can keep you motivated when you feel like giving up.
I recently held a goal-setting workshop in the form of a ‘Vision Board’ session. A vision board is a tool used to help and maintain focus on specific life goals. It’s really nothing fancy and is so easy to do, but it’s a very powerful tool. Vision boards help to identify your vision and give it visual clarity.
It’s the second time this year that I’ve held this kind of workshop and once again it proved an incredibly valuable and motivational day. Together, we composed our boards; displaying images which represented what we want to be, do or have in our lives. As the vision board is such a simple tool to use, we had participants as young as 3-years old who were mapping out their thoughts visually.
Mala Aggarwal, who attended the first workshop with her children, said “One month on, it’s great to see what an impact it’s had on the family. Already, we have achieved a number of our goals and it has made the family more aligned”
I’m planning on holding another workshop in March 2014, so if you want to get involved please do get in touch. Why not try giving it a go with your family and friends today and sharing the outcomes at the next workshop?
